SILVER DOLLAR (Baby Blue) Eucalyptus Tree Seeds

Grow Your Own "Baby Blue" Eucalyptus Tree - Seeds Available Now!

Bring the beauty of the "Baby Blue" Eucalyptus (scientific name: Eucalyptus pulverulenta) to your garden!  These highly sought-after ornamental trees are native to specific regions of southern New South Wales, Australia, and are renowned globally.

"Baby Blue" Eucalyptus is celebrated for its distinctive heart-shaped, powdery-blue leaves, which are a favourite for adding unique greenery to floral arrangements and garden designs.  So popular, they've even earned the nickname "Florist Silver Dollar" in places like California, thanks to the stunning colour of their foliage.

Each pack contains 10 seeds, ready for you to start your own beautiful Eucalyptus journey.

Sowing Instructions:

  • Seed Preparation (Stratification - Recommended but not always essential): While Eucalyptus pulverulenta can sometimes germinate without it, cold stratification can improve germination rates.  Place the seeds in a small, damp paper towel, fold it, and put it into a sealed plastic bag or container. Refrigerate (not freeze) for 3-4 weeks.

  • Sowing Medium: Use a well-draining seed-raising mix or a blend of potting mix and perlite/sand.

  • Sowing: Scatter the seeds thinly on the surface of your prepared medium. Do not bury them deeply, as Eucalyptus seeds need light to germinate. Lightly sprinkle a very thin layer of fine sand or vermiculite over the seeds or gently press them into the surface.

  • Watering: Water gently from the bottom (placing the pot in a tray of water) or mist lightly to avoid displacing the seeds.  Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.

  • Location & Temperature: Place your seed tray in a warm, bright location, ideally with temperatures between 20−25∘C.  A warm spot outdoors (if temperatures are suitable) or a sunny windowsill is ideal.

  • Germination: Germination can be erratic but typically occurs within 2-6 weeks. Be patient!

  • Transplanting: Once seedlings have developed their second set of true leaves and are sturdy enough to handle, carefully transplant them into individual pots.

  • Hardening Off: Before planting outdoors, gradually expose young trees to outdoor conditions over 1-2 weeks.

  • Outdoor Planting: Choose a sunny location with well-draining soil. Eucalyptus trees prefer full sun.

Kind communication, this product was more than described. Came with an additional packet of basil seeds, I’m looking forward to growing. The seed packaging was well done in the shipping envelope.
