HOW TO GROW RYE :

Step 1
Best sown during autumn. Sow seeds on the surface garden beds or fields of garden soil and cover lightly. Keep roughly 10cm apart, in full sun and moist.
Step 2
Seed germination can take from 2-3 weeks depending on climate. Rye prefers colder climates and can withstand frosts. 
Step 3
Harvesting can begin in 70-90 days. Often harvested throughout late spring.
 
Height: up to 120 cm (4 feet)
Width: up to 10 cm (3 in)
 
Rye grain is high in protein and dietary fibre.
Rye is used to make bread, flour, beer,  whiskey, vodka and is also used for feeding livestock.
Rye can withstand sub-zero temperatures and is commonly grown in Poland, Russia and Germany.
