Greater Mullein Seeds Organic .
HOW TO GROW MULLEIN :
Step 1To sow, push seeds into the surface of the soil either directly into the ground or into small pots. The soil needs to drain well and not be too nutrient rich. When sowing directly into the ground loosen the soil to a depth of around 15cm (6 inches) to allow for the taproot to penetrate with less resistance. Moisten and leave in a warm, sunny position. The temperature range for germinating Mullein seeds is 10-40°C/50-104°F. They are not fussy. Seeds should germinate within 14-21 days.
Step 2
After sprouting, keep moist but not wet until the plants are four weeks old. After four weeks they do not need a lot of water. Seedlings are ready for transplanting once they have grown a true set of leaves, and all frost has finished. Take care when transplanting to look after the main taproot. Be sure to keep them moist, if transplanting, for the next week or so to fully establish themselves in their new environment.
Step 3
Final position should preferably be in full sun. They will tolerate some shade but will take longer to mature. Greater Mullein can withstand some drought once strong enough. Grown in the right season (sprouting by early Spring) Mullein can begin blooming in around 80-100 days (mid to late Summer) and continue for up to six weeks. Full maturity can take 1-2 years.
