Echinodorus 'Oriental
 
For sale is one of a number of 15-25cm Echinodorus 'Oriental’ in emerge form with 5+ leaves similar in look to pic two.

Pic one is a in tank adult plant provided with adequate fertiliser and lighting etc.

This species of sword has a gorgeous lavender colouration on its central leaves, transitioning to lighter whit and green variations on its outer leaves. An elongated leaf shape and striking colouration make Echinodorus Oriental a wonderful addition as a centre or rear plant for any freshwater aquarium.
 
Growing reasonably large at around 30-40cm, this species is best suited to a medium - large aquarium where it can be used as a focal point or a background filler. It can be maintained as a smaller species with pruning.
 
Relatively easy to grow with minimal fuss and just the occasional prune. Oriental Swords will suit most freshwater-planted tanks.
 
To achieve optimal colouration, good lighting and ideally a weekly liquid fertiliser should be used in addition to root fertiliser tabs, supplied every few months.
 
These beautiful plants will, as they grow underwater develop a more oval and slightly more translucent leaf extending from the rose inner leaves to the coppery green outer leaves.
 
Hardy and with a tough leaf, this sword will thrive in a well-maintained tropical freshwater aquarium.
