Dwarf sagittaria / dwarf arrowhead, narrow Sagittaria - live aquarium plant
For sale is one of several approx 7-20cm Dwarf Sagittaria. Please note depending on when these come in they may be in emerse or submerse form. Emerse plants transform to submerse in a matter of days (it really is quite incredible).
Dwarf Sagittaria are as their name suggests a smaller variety of Sagittaria. They are used particularly well as a ground cover or equally as a clump style plant if maintained as they can get between 20-30cm in height. This stunning addition to any planted tank grows easily with minimal fuss and just the occasional prune (because it propagates so well), and a decent feed.
Ideally some root fertilisers should be supplied every few months along with a good weekly liquid fertiliser such as Sera Florena (available from us).
These beautiful plants will, as they grow underwater develop a long slender lime green leaf and become more luscious as they propagate and spread. If lighting and nutrient levels are just right it is possible for this species to develop a redness to its leaves rather than the standard green as shown in one of the attached pictures.
This relatively easy aquatic plant is the perfect addition to any foreground, where it can be maintained to fill a specific area or left to run wild. The specieas can also grow to around 30cm when grown in lower light tanks and looks great as a background plant as well.
Hardy and fast growing this clumping plants will thrive in a well-maintained tropical tank adding a splash of colour and shape!
